Elvis Fields | Kamilaroi people

Elvis is from Walgett and was brought up on a Merino sheep station near Lighting Ridge which is located in the region of the Kamilaroi people. Over the past 10 years Elvis has reconnected with his heritage and used traditional wood carving as part of a healing process.

Wood is source from felled trees in farmlands and is used to create a range of traditional items like clap sticks, boomerangs, coolamons and other indigenous artifacts. These artifacts will be on show and for sale as part of the Indigi Popup at Cubby Space 11th – 30th November 2019.
